In April of 2010 the club went to the old Metronite Quarry, not owned by Paine & Dolan, outside the small town of Felch in north Dickinson County. This quarry is known for a variety of minerals and crystals including: calcite, dolomite, phlogopite, pyrite, quartz and tremolite. Afterwards, we visited the roadcut just west of Felch on Michigan Route-69 where we collected calcite, goethite, hematite, jasper, marcasite and quartz crystals.
